Mommy Dentist in Business is excited to announce our upcoming event “So You Wanna Be a Speaker?”, a speaker workshop event! Have you ever thought of speaking in front of an audience, but didn’t know where to start? Well, now is your chance! This interactive workshop will focus on encouraging mommy dentists to step up and provide them with the tools to break into the speaking circuit and become a leading voice in dentistry.
A LITTLE ABOUT DR. ELIZABETH FLEMING
Dr. Elizabeth Fleming is an experienced comprehensive and family dentist who has managed her private practice in Phoenix, AZ for over 30 years. She is also a wife, mother and part-time caregiver for her elderly mother who has dementia. Dr. Fleming has played an integral role in scheduling speakers for the local AZ Dental Convention (WRDE) for 8 years and as chair of the planning Council for the last 5. She has written articles that have been published in various dental journals, and was Clinical Director for DentalTown magazine from 2013-2015, where she edited and recruited authors for the publication. As an industry leader, Dr. Fleming continues to review products for Dental Product Shopper. Most recently she has started a dental speaker’s bureau, Quality Dental Voices, which spotlights dentists speaking on a variety of topics.
A LITTLE ABOUT DEIRDRE BREAKENRIDGE
Deirdre Breakenridge is an entrepreneur and the CEO of Pure Performance Communications. She has been in PR and marketing for over 25 years and is an adjunct professor at UMASS at Amherst. Deirdre is the author of six different books, including her latest title, Answers for Modern Communicators, which was published in October of 2017. She speaks internationally on the topics of PR, marketing, branding, and social media and is a blogger at PR Expanded. She also hosts a podcast called Women Worldwide and enjoys connecting with professionals all over the world.
A LITTLE ABOUT JANINE MACLACHLAN
Janine MacLachlan is director of integrated marketing at the American Dental Association where she creates strategies to deliver member value, including an $18 million digital campaign to encourage adults to see a dentist more regularly and a program to accelerate leadership roles for women dentists. She has trained dozens of ADA spokespersons, volunteer leaders and corporate executives on how to deliver messages that increase their influence. She works at the intersection of strategy and innovation, with focus on digital strategies, brand building, creative facilitation and change leadership in health and wellness, including oral health, heart health and nutrition. She is a volunteer mentor at 1871, Chicago’s entrepreneurial hub for digital startups, where she coaches on leadership communication for women, and serves on the Chicago board of Ellevate, a global network for professional women. In previous roles she served as creativity coach and brand strategist for blue chip communications agencies that include Ogilvy, Edelman and Ketchum. She holds a professional certificate in Innovation and Change Management from Northwestern University bachelor’s degree in journalism from Central Michigan University.

Lisa Knowles is a visionary thinker and an energy analyzer. She looks at the whole picture as well as the whole patient. She speaks and writes broadly about dentistry-beyond the teeth-and works to help others understand the oral and systemic connections between dentistry and medicine.
