Celebrating How Far We've Come
As we bid farewell to another year and welcome the fresh beginning of the New Year, it’s only natural to take a moment and reflect on the journey that brought us here. This time, let’s embark on a special journey six years back, reminiscing about the person we were then, and celebrating the remarkable growth and progress we have made since. It’s a testament to our resilience, determination, and the transformative power of time. So, let’s delve into this journey through time and marvel at how far we have come.
Cast your mind back to six years ago. Remember the dreams, aspirations, and ambitions that fueled your spirit. Reflect on the challenges, fears, and doubts that tested your resolve. Take a moment to reconnect with the person you were, acknowledging the triumphs and setbacks that shaped you. Remember the lessons learned, the friendships forged, and the experiences that left an indelible mark on your soul. Embrace the past, for it is the foundation upon which your present stands. I chose six years ago because that is when I launched Mommy Dentists in Business. The person I was back 6 years ago was a mom to a 5 and 3 year old, a pediatric dentist who owned 2 locations that worked full time including Saturdays, taught residents, and ran a podcast show.
Boy, have things changed!
Now, let’s celebrate! Take stock of the milestones and achievements you have accomplished over the past six years. It could be personal growth, career advancements, educational pursuits, or any other significant accomplishments. Recognize the hard work, dedication, and perseverance that led you to these achievements. Allow yourself to bask in the glow of your accomplishments, knowing that each milestone represents a step forward on your journey. Maybe you bought a practice, or started a practice, perhaps you got married or divorced (both can be celebratory), and maybe you had another child and grew your beautiful family. Whatever it is, you changed! For me, so much has changed! I sold in 2020, moved to California, and started to practice again as an associate. MDIB also changed as we grew in podcasts, webinars, events, and our CEO Roundtable went from one group of 25 to 55, and now we host 3 groups all ranging from 55-70 women!
As we reflect on the past, it’s essential to acknowledge the lessons learned along the way. Think about the challenges you faced and how they shaped your character. Consider the moments of self-discovery, the times you pushed beyond your comfort zone, and the valuable insights gained from both successes and failures. Growth is a continuous process, and by embracing the lessons learned, we empower ourselves to keep evolving into the best version of ourselves. Continue to LEAN IN and continue to rely on your colleagues and MDIB hive to offer support.
Expressing gratitude is a powerful way to acknowledge our progress and the support we received along the way. Take a moment to appreciate the people who stood by your side, offering encouragement, guidance, and love. Show gratitude for the opportunities that came your way, the moments of serendipity, and the chance encounters that enriched your journey. Gratitude opens our hearts, amplifies our joy, and sets the stage for an even brighter future.
Now, standing at the threshold of the New Year, it’s time to embrace the present and the exciting possibilities that lie ahead. Armed with the wisdom of the past and the accomplishments of the present, set your sights on new goals and aspirations. Dream big, for you have proven that you are capable of achieving greatness. Let the lessons learned and the progress made propel you forward towards a future that is brimming with hope, purpose, and fulfillment.
As the clock ticks and a new year dawns upon us, take a moment to reflect on the remarkable journey you have undertaken. From the person you once were to the person you have become, celebrate your growth, accomplishments, and resilience. Embrace the past, cherish the present, and step into the future with renewed vigor and determination. Remember, the power to shape your destiny lies within you. Happy New Year, and here’s to a future filled with endless possibilities!
I look forward to 2024 and to see what this year will bring our community. I only wish you all the best and only hope that you find what you are looking for. And to our sisters in the Official MDIB group, I am so proud to stand next to you and watch you grow beyond your biggest dreams. And when you fall, know that you have a sisterhood to catch you and make sure that you are never on the ground too long. Until the next Summit, be well and see you on FB!
All My Love,
