Course Title:
Pursuing health, wellness, and the ever-elusive self-care for the MDIB CEO
Course Description:
What does it mean to be healthy? How do we define self-care? And when life gets busy, how do we make time for any of it? We’re playing the role of business owner, medical professional, mother, friend, partner, neighbor–you name it. The busier and more complicated our lives get, the harder it can be to implement appropriate and successful ways to care for ourselves, and stay mentally and physically healthy. Participants in this course will explore what it means to care for themselves holistically and examine what gets in the way, from the workplace to home and everywhere in between.
Course Objectives:
- Explore the varying personal needs and goals one might have around self-care and wellness
- Identify common barriers to achieving these goals at work and at home
- Discuss ways to increase physical and emotional health through self-care, healthy emotional processing, boundary setting, and other useful skills
