Endodontic–periodontal lesions present unique diagnostic and therapeutic challenges due to the interplay between pulpal and periodontal disease. This case-based, interactive presentation reviews essential CBCT interpretation strategies to improve diagnostic accuracy in everyday practice. Emphasis will be placed on identifying subtle and commonly overlooked findings that can greatly impact clinical decisions and patient outcomes. Attendees will learn a systematic approach to reviewing scans, enhancing their ability to recognize a range of pathologies and anatomical variations. Through clinical examples and practical guidelines, participants will gain greater confidence in evaluating CBCT images and determining when further investigation, Radiologist referral or treatment modification, may be necessary.

Modern caries management emphasizes minimal interventions, selective caries removal, and protecting the pulp dentin complex to preserve the natural dentition for as long as possible. This course will review early interventions and nonsurgical options for managing incipient caries lesions by arresting and remineralizing them. Dr. MacLean will review a new, minimally invasive restorative option which harnesses the natural power of papain, a proteolytic enzyme, to facilitate and enhance selective caries removal.
