Becoming a KOL: What Dental Companies Are Actually Looking For
Course Description:
Every clinician wants to know how the women on those industry stages got there. Dr. Rolando Nunez is on the other side of that decision.
As a dentist working inside Bisco, he sees exactly how manufacturers identify, vet, and select their Key Opinion Leaders — and it’s rarely who you’d guess. Companies aren’t hunting for the biggest name. They’re looking for clinicians who genuinely use the product and can speak about it with real conviction.
In this session, Dr. Nunez walks through what a company reviews before they ever reach out: your social media handles, where else you’ve spoken, how you carry yourself on stage, and whether you can talk about a product in a way that educates instead of pitches. He’ll also cover what the relationship actually involves once you’re in it — the expectations, the commitments, and what companies hope to get in return.
If you’ve ever wondered how to get on the radar, this is the answer from someone who helps make the list.
Course Objectives:
- Identify the specific criteria dental manufacturers use to evaluate and select Key Opinion Leaders, including clinical product use, social media presence, and speaking history.
- Evaluate their own visibility and candidacy from a company's perspective, and pinpoint the gaps to close before seeking KOL opportunities.
- Describe the responsibilities and expectations of a KOL relationship, and apply techniques for presenting a product authentically without sounding like a sales pitch.

LinkedIn Is Not Optional: Build the Profile That Gets You Seen
Course Description:
Every industry outside of dentistry lives on LinkedIn. Ours barely shows up — and it’s costing us.
Think of LinkedIn as Facebook’s professional counterpart: same idea, entirely different room. It’s where writers get pitched, speakers get booked, consultants get found, and boards go looking for names. If you want to be known as more than a clinician, you need a profile that says so.
In this hour we’ll go section by section — starting with your banner, the most valuable and most wasted real estate on the entire platform. You’ll learn exactly what belongs in a profile, what to leave out, and what kind of content to post so you stay visible without adding another job to your week.
Course Objectives:
- Explain why a LinkedIn presence is essential for building authority as a writer, speaker, coach, or consultant — and how it functions differently from Facebook and Instagram.
- Audit and rebuild each element of their profile — banner, headline, About, and Featured — so it positions expertise rather than reading like a résumé.
- Identify the types of content that perform on LinkedIn and set a realistic posting cadence to sustain visibility.

About The Speaker
Dr. Nada Albatish
Dr. Nada Albatish owns and operates a multidisciplinary practice, All Smiles Dental Centre, just north of Toronto. As a passionate learner, she first completed a GPR, followed by hundreds of hours of CE each year. She is a fact finder – always researching, looking for evidence, and understanding the whys of what we do in practice as dentists.
Nada started her current practice from scratch as a solo practitioner and quickly realized she needed a strong support team as well as a team of skilled doctors in multiple specialties to help her achieve her goals as a comprehensive dentist. Today, Nada’s niche is complex and rehabilitative dentistry, supported by a team of 30, including general practitioners and specialists.
Nada is honored to serve as Faculty for Clinical Mastery Series, curator for Restorative Nation, co-author a book, write articles, and speak at various dental events. Nada is inspired by helping dentists to achieve excellence, predictability, and confidence in their craft. She is committed to the success of her patients, colleagues, and the advancement of the dental profession at large.
As a mother to two beautiful girls, Nada is blessed every day to be able to see the world through the eyes of her little people. In her free time, which she has learned to intentionally create on a weekly basis, she loves to exercise, eat good food, and spend time with her girls doing absolutely nothing except living in the moments. During the 20% of the year that Toronto has good weather, she finds peace in water sports, especially paddle boarding on the lake under the sun. The rest of the year she creates the same feeling by traveling!
