September always feels like a second “New Year”, it’s a time to reset and slow your roll. The kids are back in school, the routines shift, and suddenly we realize—there are only four months left in 2025. When I owned my own offices, I reminded my team that the first week of November was our annual team meeting. Everyone had to come prepared to discuss how we were doing with our Key Performance Indicators. I had associate doctors attend and all team members. It was a time to carve out team building, but also time to see how we were doing in attaining goals in our marketing efforts, social media platforms, production and collection goals and so forth. We always reviewed and renewed our Core Values and S.W.O.T “strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats.
This is the perfect time to pause and reflect:
- What have we accomplished so far this year?
- What pivots or lessons have we learned?
- What’s the one big thing we still want to achieve before December?
It’s also a wonderful moment to gather your team. Encourage them to share their proudest wins, the challenges they’ve faced, and their ideas for finishing the year strong. Together, you can focus on the goals that matter most—and start laying the foundation for 2026.
🐝 As MDIBs, we juggle so much more than dentistry. This season is about aligning our goals with our purpose—both at work and at home. Let’s use these last four months not just to finish the year, but to finish it well.
