What's Next? Panel

Join us for this special kick off panel of dentists who decided that clinical dentistry wasn't working for them. Learn a bit about the pivots they each made and how they successfully transitioned. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask the panelists questions in a live Q & A session.

Meet the Panelists (from upper left, clockwise):

Dr. Laura Brenner:

Dr. Laura Brenner graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 2001, then moved to Denver to establish her dental roots. She worked in private practice for 10 years until she left clinical dentistry behind for good. As the author of the Lolabees blog and “10 Reasons Your Dentist Probably Hates You Too,” she began connecting with other dentists from around the world who wanted more from their careers. This work inspired her to become a Certified Professional Coach who is passionate about helping dentists find joy in their careers again.

Dr. Stephanie Gans:

Dr. Stephanie Gans graduated from the Ohio State University’s College of Dentistry in 2013 and advanced her training by completing a General Practice Residency at Saint Vincent Charity Hospital. She practiced dentistry in her hometown of Cleveland, Ohio prior to joining Procter & Gamble in the Fall of 2018.

Dr. Gans is currently a Professional and Scientific Relations Manager for Crest + Oral-B. Her goal is to teach dental professionals about the recent advances in paste and power brush technology to help improve oral health.

Dr. Robert Lee:

Dr. Robert Lee completed his dental training at the University of Sydney and obtained his MBA at the University of New South Wales, Australia. After several years in private practice in Sydney, Australia, he successfully transitioned to the corporate world and held various leadership positions in Sales Management, Product Management, Marketing and Professional/Scientific Relations in the last 25 years. His career with multinational dental companies includes Degussa Dental (now part of Dentsply Sirona), Kulzer, GC and Procter & Gamble. Born in Malaysia, he has worked and lived in Australia, Singapore, Japan, Germany, and the US. Most recently, he was the Director of Marketing for North America with GC. He is the founder and President of Denticus, Inc., specializing in dental marketing and consulting.

Dr. Cindy Pauley:

Cindy has a long and rich history in dentistry and the dental community. She practiced general dentistry in Bellevue, Washington for 28 years. She practiced first with her mom for 18 years and then alongside her husband for a decade more.

When she sold her practice and retired from clinical dentistry, she acquired her broker’s license and went on to personally manage her real estate portfolio which includes both commercial and multifamily holdings. The next step in her career seemed a natural one as it combined her knowledge of dentistry and dental practices with her knowledge of business and real estate transactions. She is very proud to be a broker with Omni Practice Group and is passionate about helping dentists with all their transition needs.

The Practice Transition of Dr. Grace Yum- Part I

This two part lecture will focus on both the planning and execution of Dr. Grace Yum's practice transition journey.

Part I:

Dr. Grace Yum jumps into her decision to sell her two scratch practices at the height of her career. She will share how she came to her decision, resources she used to help her decide how she would transition out of ownership and her emotional process along the way.

Meet the Speaker:

Since first entering the dental field more than 20 years ago, Dr. Grace Yum has quietly become one of the leading pediatric dentists in Chicago and beyond, as well as a thought-leader among dentists nationally. Dr. Yum found her passion for dentistry when she was 18 years old. She first worked as a dental assistant, progressing on to dental school, advanced training in pediatrics at Chicago’s leading children’s hospital, and then climbed the ladder to eventually start two new construction, fee for service, practices, and sold after 11 years. As a certified pediatric dentist, Dr. Yum has earned a certification held by less than 5% of all dentists in the United States.  Dr. Yum has an active presence on social media, where she brings together patients, their parents, other dentists, and working moms. Most recently, she founded Mommy Dentists in Business, a private Facebook group of over 8,000 mommy dentists in the United States and around the world who are dedicated to sharing best practices to achieve excellence in dentistry while balancing life and work.

Meet Your Team Panel

Once you've made your decision to transition out of your dental practice you'll need to build a team who will help you along the way. This panel will consist of representatives of each member your team will require including: a broker, an accountant, a lawyer and a banker.

After a brief description of their role in the transition, attendees will hear tips for building your dream team and will have the opportunity to participate in a live Q & A with panelists.
